Vaya Beach Resort Bulgaria: 36 Villas Above Irakli Bay
Profile
Vaya Beach Resort, Irakli Bay, Bulgaria: 36 Private-Pool Villas in the Emona Forest Above the Black Sea’s Most Unspoiled Central Beach
Bulgaria | Emona | Nessebar Municipality, Burgas Province
Vaya Beach Resort offers an exhilarating diversity of landscapes — breathtaking views above Irakli Bay, soft sandy beaches, rich forest hugging the coast and gentle river flow, complemented by the resort’s own luscious gardens.
Vaya Beach Resort is set in Emona, overlooking Irakli Beach, and offers 36 design villas, 5 restaurants and bars, a fitness centre, as well as a wellness centre and private beach area.
Vaya Beach Resort rests 33 km north from the ancient city of Nessebar, between Varna and Burgas — positioned at the midpoint of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, within the protected natural environment of the Irakli conservation area.
Irakli Beach — the beach that Vaya Beach Resort overlooks and has private beach access to — is the specific quality marker. Probably the best Black Sea resort in Bulgaria and likely the wider region, located on a wild beach with great scenery all around, some spectacular views especially during sunrise. Irakli is one of the last undeveloped beaches on the central Bulgarian Black Sea coast — its protected status means the construction that consumed Sunny Beach and the central coast resorts to the south has not reached it.
Getting There: 37km from Burgas Airport, 8km South of Obzor, E87 Then Emona/Irakli Road
Sunny Beach is 16 km from Vaya Beach Resort, while Burgas City is 45 km away. The nearest airport is Burgas Airport, 37 km from the property.
From Burgas Airport, drive north on the E87 for approximately 37 kilometres. Turn toward Emona/Irakli and follow signs to Vaya Beach Resort. The road passes through the Emona forest area before reaching the resort on the headland above the bay.
Varna Airport is approximately 50 kilometres north. A taxi from Obzor (8 kilometres north) costs approximately 25 to 35 BGN and takes approximately 15 minutes.
The resort has private parking. Most guests arrive by car or private transfer — Irakli bay’s protected status means there is no public bus service to the resort itself.
The 36 Villas: Private Pools, iPad Room Control, Natural Materials, Cape Emine Views
Vaya Beach Resort represents a mix of 36 enchanting villas, each individually designed to maximise the alluring views of the surrounding golden Irakli bay, its virgin forest and legendary Cape Emine mountains.
The 36 luxurious villas of the resort are partially embedded into the terrain, achieving a discrete integration in the existing surroundings.
Each villa features its own garden, a flat-screen TV, complimentary mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities. Most units also offer a private swimming pool.
Villas include an intelligent system controlled by iPad, managing curtains, AC, TV, and lights for ultimate convenience.
The specific premium detail: each villa built from natural materials and individually furnished — the design approach that makes Vaya different from the standard Bulgarian resort hotel model of identical rooms in multi-storey blocks.
The Food: Own-Garden Produce, 5 Restaurants and Bars, Farm-to-Table Approach
Dining at the resort is an art form. All products are either grown in the Resort’s own gardens, or carefully selected from local farms to guarantee uncompromised quality. Fused into exquisite culinary combinations and served in an exceptional design setting, the signature dishes elevate the senses to a new, divine level of delight.
We are very impressed by the fact that vegetables and fruits used in the menu are produced in the house gardens. The own-garden produce is the specific food quality commitment that visitor accounts confirm — the tomatoes and salad greens at breakfast are from the resort’s own growing programme, not from a wholesale supplier.
Five restaurants and bars operate within the resort, with the Oma Spa wellness centre adjacent for post-dinner relaxation.
Irakli Beach: The Protected Wild Beach Below the Resort
Irakli Beach — the bay below the Vaya headland — is one of the last undeveloped beaches on the central Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The protected area designation prevents commercial development on the beach itself, which is why the resort overlooks the bay from the forest above rather than sitting on the beach.
The private beach access provided to resort guests is the specific arrangement: a path from the resort down to the bay, where a private section of the otherwise wild beach is managed for guest comfort. The wider Irakli beach is accessible to the public and remains free.
Cape Emine — the eastern extremity of the Balkan mountain range, the cape where the mountains reach the Black Sea — is the dramatic geographical landmark visible from the resort villas. The cape marks the specific point where the Bulgarian Black Sea coast changes character from the flat northern beaches to the more varied southern coastline.
Wellness: Oma Spa, Mineral Pools, Fitness, Sauna
The resort invites guests in the blissful atmosphere of the Wellness centre, where they can freely reconnect their inner self with nature on an active quest for recharge and rejuvenation. Sunk in prolific vegetation and uncovering breathtaking views over Irakli Bay, Oma Spa supports guests with the therapies, specialists, products and atmosphere needed on their individual wellness journey.
The outdoor pool with mineral water, the Jacuzzi, the sauna, and the fitness centre complete the wellness programme. The resort has been recognised at the World Luxury Hotel Awards for its combination of natural setting and luxury provision.
Pet Friendly and Family Programme
An unique place in Bulgaria. Everything is wonderful at Vaya, we had a great time here and we were happy to discover a very pet friendly resort.
The kids’ club at the beach is helpful for families, offering a smaller menu with good food options. The resort accommodates children, couples, and pets — the full range of the family and lifestyle traveller.
Vaya Beach Resort above Irakli Bay in the Emona forest is the 36-villa Black Sea luxury resort partially embedded in the terrain above Bulgaria’s most unspoiled central beach — own-garden produce served across 5 restaurants, most villas with private pools, iPad room control, the Oma Spa overlooking the bay, 37 kilometres from Burgas Airport, and the wild undeveloped Irakli Beach below.
Drive north from Burgas. Turn at Emona. The forest opens above the bay.
The beach below is one of the last wild ones. The resort above is one of the most comfortable.
